Help me kickstart my campaign! (It only takes $5)

Spring is almost here (I promise this cold weather today is a lie!) and with it comes the beginning of campaign season!  I am running for my second term in the Maine Legislature. Due to re-districting I am running to represent the newly formed District 49.*  Just like last time, I’m running as a Clean Elections candidate because I believe big money should stay out of politics. In order to qualify as a Clean Elections candidate, I need to collect a quota of $5 donations from constituents within my new district. I need to collect 60 different donations of $5. The deadline is one week away!

All I need is $5! No more and no less. If you think about it that’s cheaper than a Venti Caramel Flan Creme Frappuccino® at Starbucks!

Could you please help me by donating $5 to my campaign by this weekend? Each voting member of a household is eligible to donate $5 online at the Maine Clean Elections website:

It only takes a moment to enter your address, select your candidates and enter your credit card information.

I can also accept seed money contributions until next week.  Seed money can be donated in checks made out to Matthea Daughtry and mailed or delivered to me at 11B Everett St, Brunswick, ME 04011. (Heck I’ll come to you if it makes it easier!) Seed money is not limited to constituents.  Any one can donate any amount up to the limit of $100 per person. I can only collect $500 total so please let me know if you are interested in donating to my seed money fund!

This is the only time that anyone can donate to my campaign. Could you please help by donating $5 online at and consider contributing a bit of seed money. That’s right, folks; this is a one time offer at the low price of $5!

Thank you so much for your support,

P.S. If you know someone who lives in my new district please share this with them!

*This new district 49 includes the western part of Brunswick starting on the west side of Water and Federal Streets to the railroad tracks.  It then follows the tracks to the west side of Spring Street to the north side of Columbia to the west side of Barrows to Richards then down the west side of Maine and Mere Point where it widens to both sides of the road just beyond Rossmore Road.

You can view a map of the district here:
