Come testify before the Appropriations Committee!

The Office of Policy and Management was charged with finding savings in the budget and throughout state government. They released a set of wide ranging proposals that contain significant cuts to our education system from funding to charter schools to technology. These cuts could have a dire impact on our state while not creating any real long term savings.

Today the Bangor Daily News featured my floor speech on LD 1566 “An Act Regarding School Budgets.” The bill was introduced by Senator Rebecca Millett (D-Cape Elizabeth) and would have enabled local school districts to use the extra education funds that were allocated in the state budget.
