Daughtry bill would tackle student health fees in the UMaine system

Bill would make college more affordable

AUGUSTA – Rep. Mattie Daughtry, D-Brunswick, has submitted legislation that would make it easier for students in the University of Maine system to avoid a student health fee that is often unnecessary.

Daughtry’s measure would allow students to choose whether or not they want to purchase the services covered by the fee.

NEWS: Daughtry Appointed to be House Chair of College Affordability Commission

I’m pleased to announce that I’ve been appointed to be the House Chair of the Commission to Study College Affordability and College Completion!

The thirteen-member commission was created with the passage of LD 1849, “Resolve, To Establish the Commission to Study College Affordability and College Completion.” College Affordability was a key issue for the Youth Caucus this past session.
