With Hurricane Sandy approaching fast please take all campaign signs inside

With Hurricane Sandy approaching fast I just wanted to remind everyone to take down all of your campaign signs today. I will be going around town and taking down some of my signs today too. We are expecting gusts up to 60 mph and our poor campaign signs are definitely not strong enough to handle a Hurricane. They can also become a hazard when flying around in high winds!

More importantly make sure you are prepared for the storm. Maine is not supposed to take a direct hit but due to the unsual size of Hurricane Sandy we will getting tropical force winds and rain. The Governor has declared a limited emergency that will allow power crews from Maine and Canada to prepare for Hurricane Sandy. The storm is expected to reach its strongest point late this afternoon through tomorrow. There is a chance for coastal flooding due to the powerful storm surge associated with Hurricane Sandy.

Make sure you have plenty of food and water and make sure you have flashlights and blankets easily accesible. The Maine Red Cross has a great article on what to do to prepare for the storm that you can read by clicking here.
